When Gadgets rule us.

Hey People! This is Arushi. Enjoy this story! :)

I post weekly in this blog with short, whack-y stories. I was trying to reduce my word count on this story.
Please do read this story and leave your suggestions in the comment section below. 

WHEN GADGETS RULE US.

It was 8:30 in the morning of the first day of summer vacations. I was all set to sleep in till late morning or possibly afternoon, before being *rudely* awakened by my sister's untuned and off beat singing. Before I could sleep again, Mom seized the opportunity to lift up the blinds and let the sunlight come in the room. This guaranteed that I wouldnt fall back to sleep, at any cost.(If it wasn't apparent, I'm a just a dead pile of lazy-bones.)

Reluctantly, I got up and had a bath. After looking and feeling like a human once again, I flopped on my bed, watching YouTube on my faithful phone. Away in the privacy of my room, I felt that Mom wouldn't get angry and take away my phone. (Sorrry Mom... Don't be mad, I love you) I idled away the whole afternoon watching BuzzFeed videos ( Cat videos! What do you expect?)

Finally, irritated from my constant phone  addiction, my mom took my phone away for good and ordered me out to 'play'. (15 year olds, have only online friends, not play mates.... Duh!) I took my faithful hoverboard (why are only my electronics faithful? Where are my friends?) and zoomed around our building listening to 'Shape of You' on the Bluetooth speakers. Humming merrily, I did not notice the elderly couple in front of me, until it was a teeny bit too late. Umm... Long story short, I, along with hoverboard, crashed into them. (Bamm.) I was so taken aback and so sorry (Not the kind of sorry we say after forgetting our homework, but seriously sorry.) I, myself, was thrown out of my (not-so faithful ride, now) hoverboard and bruised my knee badly, but the poor Aunty. The hoverboard was almost on her.

I screamed for help (tbh, my first instinct was to run away... But I obviously didn't). The guards of my building, came after 12 long minutes (Quite fast by their standards, by the way). The rest of the time is hazy. Many people came- My parents, their children, ambulance. They took all of us to the hospital.

Thankfully, all of us, including Aunty, were out of any danger. Except for bruises, there were no broken bones or other BIG problems.

Though, I survived the 'dreadful accident' I couldn't possibly survive the fate I needed to face back home. I was grounded, stripped of all gadgets and plus had to write an apology to Uncle and Aunty. (I had been expecting that) Plus I had to do a lot of Housework and Homework. I wasn't very lazy that summer. 

      Disclaimer:

This is an account of something my mother always anticipates can happen. For the record, though I'm very lazy and a YouTube freak, I NEVER collided into any couple, nor landed them (or anyone else) to the hospital. Though, my Mom feels I am quite prone to accidents and this is something I could actually and unfortunately do.
